SPECIAL REQUEST FOR VOLUNTEERS

Sylvan Heights is in need of volunteers for the Summer/Fall of 2008. We need mostly volunteers who can commute to Scotland Neck, either during the week or on weekends as well as a few from outside the state that can stay for an extended length of time (room and board provided).

Volunteer positions are available for both the Avian Breeding Preserve and the Waterfowl Park & Eco-Center. We have positions that work closely with birds and others that do not, including a few that are exclusively indoors.

Bird Keeper Assistants

Avicultural Assistants

Botanical Gardens Assistants

Docents (Tour Guides)

Gift Shop Assistants

Grounds Crew

Although experience is preferred, it is not a requirement. All volunteers will be trained for one or several positions, depending on availability and current skill levels.
